Why does the Waiting Child Fund ask for your support?

There are thousands of children in Ohio and more than 100,000 in the United States who are in the foster care system and waiting for a permanent adoptive family. Each is unique.

The children in our program have been waiting for a family for several years. They have had a rough start in life and are in need of a family to help them heal and grow. The Waiting Child Fund is designed to raise funds for individual children and to use these funds to pay for specialized adoption services.

We are actively working on behalf of the following children. Each of them has been assigned an individual social worker to provide 'Child Centered Recruitment' services designed to find them the family they deserve. 100% of your contribution to a child's adoption fund will be used to pay for these direct adoption services.

Dameon, Born May, 1995

Dameon talks about being "sometimes energetic and sometimes lazy." When the lazy side comes out he likes to play Gameboy. Basketball is his game of choice when he is feeling athletic.

Dameon likes to sing and listen to jazz. His favorite musician is Miles Davis, but he likes to sing any and all kinds of music.

From meeting Dameon, you wouldn't know he has had such a rough start in life. The smile you see in his photos is his standard expression. Dameon has been waiting for an adoptive family for more than four years and has found himself having to move around a lot. Our partner agency, Caring For Kids, is providing Dameon with 'Child Focused Recruitment' services and is committed to finding him the family he deserves.

 

 

Devon, Born November, 1998

Devon is curious, friendly, and outgoing. Like most boys his age he enjoys sports, video games, and playing outside. Devon has had a difficult start in life and has been waiting for an adoptive family for several years.

Devon is currently doing well in his foster family, but needs to stability of a permanent adoptive family to help him overcome his challenging past. Our parter agency, Beech Brook, is providing Devon with 'Child Focused Recruitment' services.

 

 

Tommy, Born December, 2000

Tomquan, nicknamed "Tommy," is a bright and engaging boy who loves art projects and drawing pictures for people. He is an effectionate boy who needs a family that will give him 100% commitment.

Our parnter agency, Christian Children's Home of Ohio, understands the type of family Tommy needs and is providing him with 'Child Focused Recruitment' services.

 

Daniel, Born November, 1994

Daniel is a kind young man who has been waiting for several years for an adoptive family. He enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and loves animals. He participates in 4-H and likes to attend church.

Daniel faces some developmental challenges and is need of a family who can give him the attention and care he needs to heal and grow.

Christian Children's Home of Ohio is working to provide Daniel with 'Child Focused Recruitment' services. The agency is dedicated to working on behalf of Daniel and is hopeful an adoptive match will be found for him soon.

 

 

Courtney, Born May, 1994

Courtney is outgoing, creative, and enjoys reading and writing poetry. She is a self-proclaimed "Tom Boy."

When asked about what type of family she would like to adopt her, she first answered "any family, really." But then she thought for a minute and said she would like a family who is nice and outgoing, with a mom and a dad and maybe some younger brothers or sisters.

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services is working to provide 'Child Focused Recruitment' services for Courtney and making some great progress towards finding her the family she deserves.

 

Andrew, Born January, 1998

Andrew is a talented artist. He loves to draw and will spend hours making his masterpieces. Andrew has a very vivid imagination, which adds to his creative flare.

He likes action figures and super heroes, like most boys his age. He also fancies all animals and loves the animal planet television channel. He does well with pets, especially dogs. This artist is not only creative with his drawings, but also with his food selection. Andrew enjoys macaroni and cheese with tuna, pizza and anything chocolate when it comes to his desserts.

Caring For Kids has made the committment to provide 'Child Focused Recruitment' services for Andrew until his permanent family is found.

 

Ryan, Born October, 1993

Ryan is an active young man who enjoys football and basketball. He has a curious and outgoing personality.

Ryan admits that he struggles somtimes socially and in school. He is working to overcome his difficult past. Ryan has been waiting for an adoptive family for several years. He has moved into many different placements during his years of waiting and is in need of a family who can provide him with structure and stability.

Beech Brook is the partner agency who is working to provide 'Child Focused Recruitment' services for Ryan.
